Interior design is the process of shaping the experience of an interior space and adopts a creative, practical and technical approach. Atmosphere, furniture and color came into the design process that can be used for business, retail or domestic use. Access, specifications, acoustics, ergonomics, heating, lighting, interior arrangement and suitability of space are issues which come into play.
Interior design is a profession which has become increasingly popular as people’s knowledge of the sector has increased through the media and more disposable income has allowed people to use interior designer’s service when they would not have before.
The majority of interior design work is still in the commercial sector- shops, restaurants, bars, offices, hotels but people also hire interior designers to work privately in their homes. Domestic and commercial design are the two general areas of specialisation in interior design.
